The N.C. Department of Information Technology established the Microsoft 365 program to address outdated office software issues and productivity challenges and to implement a modern collaboration and software licensing model for the Microsoft Office Desktop.
Adopting the Microsoft 365 Productivity Suite reduces infrastructure and storage costs and provides collaboration tools for over 64,000 employees. Based on the typical license model of a G3 License with Enterprise Mobility Suite, North Carolina agencies can choose to implement Office ProPlus (the modern Office Desktop), Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Planner, Forms, Intune Mobile Application Management, Teams and Groups.

Intune Mobile Device Management, PowerApps, Power Automate, To do and StaffHub were launched in 2019. Agencies can also purchase additional software for Dynamics 365 Customer Relationship Management, Power BI, Project and Visio. These services have business-policy-related factors that must be considered by individual agencies, and NCDIT will work with each agency to develop an implementation strategy.



Outlook 365 For Ncdps Employees
Microsoft’s 365 subscription services provided through NCDIT offer state agencies a 99.9% financially backed service-level agreement. Except for NCDIT Managed Desktop customers, agencies are responsible for their own M365 licenses and can choose from a full suite of products and services that meet their business requirements and budgets. NCDIT Desktop customers are also responsible for additional non-Office licenses such as Dynamics 365 CRM, Power BI and Visio.
